Enlight Renewable Energy is a leading global renewable energy company, driving the transition to a sustainable energy future. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Project Development Manager to take a key role in developing our wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects in Italy. This position offers full ownership of projects from early development through Ready-To-Build (RTB), with the opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in the Italian renewable energy market, a proactive mindset, and excellent execution and stakeholder management skills.
- Leading all development related activities of greenfield, mid-stage and mature wind, solar, and BESS projects in Italy up to Ready-To-Build (RTB), in cooperation with external developers and internal stakeholders.
- Management of schedules and budgets, ensuring timely execution during all project stages in coordination with all company departments involved.
- Manage and coordinate external developers, engineering companies, consultants, authorities, institutions, and advisors to obtain all required permits, authorizations, and administrative approvals.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate risks related to project development and implementation, including financial, legal, technical, regulatory, and environmental risks.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with all external and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development and project management processes, supporting portfolio growth, scalability, and technical and financial optimization of ongoing projects
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project development, ideally across multiple technologies (solar, wind, and/or BESS).
- University degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Deep understanding of the Italian renewable energy development landscape, including permitting, regulatory processes, and grid connection principles.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex projects, including documentation, schedules, budgets, and external interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, administrative procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- High motivation, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.Previous experience in an international company or major energy developer is an advantage.
- Italian – native or fluent; strong proficiency in English for technical and professional communication (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel across Italy as required.
