Job Summary
The Student Life Centre Office is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the John Deutsch University Centre, Queen's Centre, and the Grey House. It serves and liaises with students, student governments, University administration, building tenants, and the communities within Queen's University to provide a vibrant and dynamic environment through proposing, fostering the development of, and overseeing, programs and services consistent with the mission and long-term plans of the AMS. It is crucial to develop a good relationship with administration and all tenants of the buildings.

Act as the SLC designate for conducting audits of AMS club space.Administer building keys and key policies to all tenants of the Student Life Centre buildings.Oversee client invoicing and payment for all rental services provided through the SLCResponsible for all oversight and administration of AV and general equipmentImport and format monthly Moneris and strike revenue reports in collaboration with the AMSEnsure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulationsExhibit a work knowledge of service staff portfoliosMonitor employee performance to mitigate disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures and notify Head Manager of any issues that ariseHandle maintenance or facilities related issues that arise at the service and contact relevant sources, when necessary, in order to fix issues in a timely mannerEnsure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolutionOversee the day-to-day operations and attend meetings in collaboration with the Head ManagerAssist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as neededAccurately monitor, maintain and report inventories, the flow of products, and weekly ordersMaintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to our level of standards, and to set a positive example for your teamMaintain positive working relationships with relevant suppliers related to all portfoliosOversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standardsAssist the Head Manager in the development of a strategic plan, budget, mid-year review, and any relevant capital expenditure proposalsCoordinate activities with the Senior Manager by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordinglyParticipate as an active member on hiring panels to keep the service adequately staffedEnsure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standardsAttend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetingsMaintain consistent communication with all relevant stakeholders, responding to e-mails in a timely mannerComplete a thorough transition process with the incoming manager that includes one on one meetings and a transition manualComplete other duties as assignedJob Requirements
