SRM Concrete is seeking an Environmental Manager to join our team in the North Georgia region. As an Environmental Manager at SRM Concrete, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's environmental initiatives. Working as an individual in the region, and also part of an environmental team that serves SRM Concrete in 23 states, you will be at the forefront of promoting a culture of environmental responsibility and safety as you partner with team members regionally, and across the country. Responsibilities:
Oversee environmental compliance, develop sustainability initiatives, environmental permits, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local township regulations.
Knowledge of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System), SPCC (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure), Air permitting for minor and major sources including General permits associated with Ready-Mix Concrete Facilities.
Stormwater sampling (quarterly and semi-annual) and DMR’s submittals.
Annual Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports.
Preparation of SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), Self Certify the SPCC plan if applicable.
Sound knowledge of EPA submittal platforms.
Conduct regular inspections of our sites to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and a schedule of routine inspection
Create and implement health and safety procedures.
Schedule and conduct training covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Monitor compliance with safety procedures and document inspection findings in comprehensive reports.
Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
Maintain records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure to pollutants as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable.
Five years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of conducting inspections and carrying equipment.
Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Comfortable and physically able to visit and work at concrete plants and mines on a routine basis.
