Responsibilities
Role Summary:
The Commissioning & Service Manager – Baltics, Nordics & Balearics is responsible for the operational leadership of all commissioning, warranty, and service activities across the region. This includes site readiness, commissioning execution, ongoing service delivery, contractor management, customer engagement, and ensuring long-term asset performance for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Power Conversion Systems (PCS).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regional Leadership & Team Management
- Lead commissioning and field service engineers across multiple countries.
- Recruit, train, and develop regional service personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and technical capability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with OEM, safety, and regional regulatory requirements.
2. Commissioning Management
- Plan and oversee all commissioning manpower activities for BESS and PCS systems.
- Ensure all commissioning schedules meet safety, quality, and electrical regulation requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding site readiness.
- Track commissioning KPIs including quality, timelines, and punch list completion.
3. Service Operations & Field Support
- Oversee corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support complex troubleshooting of BESS/PCS systems including HV/LV, controls, and communications.
- Ensure regional SLAs, response times, and contractual service obligations are met.
- Coordinate with the Control Room, Service Admin, and Spare Parts teams.
4. Regional Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the senior technical representative for customers in the Baltics, Nordics, and Balearics.
- Lead customer review meetings and provide updates on commissioning and service performance.
- Manage technical escalations and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Support LTSA negotiations and identify regional service opportunities.
5. Warranty, Root Cause Analysis & Performance Assurance
- Validate warranty claims and collect required technical documentation.
- Oversee on-site failure investigations and root cause analysis.
- Track recurring issues and collaborate with Engineering to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure accurate data collection for CRTE, availability, and performance reporting.
6. Safety, Compliance & Quality Management
- Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety standards, HV protocols, and LOTO procedures in the region.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and site risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with national regulations in each region.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational risk.
7. Planning, Reporting & Administration
- Provide monthly regional commissioning and service reports.
- Track KPIs including first-time fix rate, availability, warranty cost, and service response time.
- Manage regional budgets, expenses, and resource planning.
- Ensure documentation is updated and accurate within ERP/Service systems.
8. External Service Partner Management
- Select, qualify, and manage local service partners across the region.
- Support negotiation with Frame work agreements with local service partners.
- Ensure partners follow OEM procedures and safety requirements.
- Conduct partner performance audits and manage recertification processes.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years in commissioning, service, or operations leadership roles.
- Strong experience with BESS, PCS, inverters, HV/LV systems, or renewable energy infrastructure.
- Experience operating across multiple countries or regions.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of Li-ion BESS, PCS systems, protection, SCADA/EMS/BMS, and grid integration.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical safety and testing standards.
Leadership & Communication:
- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage dispersed teams.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
- Fluent in English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working for OEMs, EPCs, or grid-connected energy storage providers.
- Knowledge of LTSAs, warranty processes, and performance guarantees.
