We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant solar electrical work on residential projects. The majority of our jobs at this moment are the east/southeast parts of Iowa.
Accepting licenses from:Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, wire, and commission solar PV systems (roof and ground-mounted)
- Troubleshoot and repair solar electrical systems
- Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and system schematics
- Ensure compliance with NEC and local codes
- Test systems for performance and safety
- Collaborate with installation crews and project managers
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Provide excellent customer service when on-site
Requirements:
- MUST have a journeyman electrician license in the state of Iowa or reciprocal state
- If not located in Iowa, must be willing to travel for 2 weeks at a time
- Proven experience with solar PV systems (2+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Comfortable working on rooftops and ladders
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- NABCEP certification
- Experience with battery storage systems
- OSHA 10/30 certification
