Job Description
We are seekingaskilledSeniorSystemsEngineersupporting the development ofsingle axissolar trackers and other solar power plant equipmentforpower distribution, powerconversion,inspection and maintenance.The ideal candidate is a talented engineerwho demonstratesstrongknowledge ofsystems engineering andmechanical engineering principles,analytical skills,system-levelmindset, commitment toinnovation, attention todetails,and passion for the solar industry.This position is based in Hyderabad andwill report to theDirector of Systems Engineering.
KeyResponsibilities
- Communicate with the Product Management team to understand theproductneeds and translate them into engineering requirements and design solutions.
- Perform system architecture design, including functional block diagrams and interface definitions.
- Develop and manage system level requirementsfrom definition toimplementationand verification.
- Drive allengineeringdisciplinesand work closely withmanufacturingteamsthrough the development cycle to bring the productfrom concept tomass production.
- Create and implement test plans to bring up, debug, and validate designs to meet functional and performance goals with a focus on safetyandreliability.
- Own and develop system level modeling tools that will guide the product design and ensure that the product performance meets all customer and product requirements.
- Support automation of design processesand tools to scalethebusiness.
- Gather, process, and analyzelarge sets offield data and factory test data to guide the investigation and resolution of serviceanomalies and improve future products.
- Participate in system level design and process FMEAs to ensure design robustness, safety, and reliability.
RequiredQualifications
- BS orMSorPhDinMechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, System Engineeringor equivalent.
- 7+years’hands onexperience designing complexelectromechanicalproducts.
- Experiencewith the fullproductlifecycle, from requirement definition to design, production,operation.
- Experienceoperating in a multi-disciplinary and multi-functional environment
- Experience performing trade studies and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Experience writing requirement specifications, verification plansand test plans.
- Strong eye toward safety, constructability, and system maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience inSystems Engineering.
- Experience with CAD and FEA tools.
- Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or other high-level general-purpose programming language.
- Experiencewith requirement managementprocess and tools (Jama preferred).
- Experience with MBSE.
- FMEA, root cause analysis, investigation of service anomalies.
- Understanding of solarindustryand mechanical tracking systems.
