✏️ About the position:
SFC is managing a program focused on advancing the rules, design and implementation of robust market-based measures for logisticsdecarbonization (specifically those, based on voluntary book and claim chain of custody systems).We are looking to drive further convergence of the international standards and the subsequentadoptionof high-quality market-based measures in transportationat scale, as well as setting the requirementsguardrailsfor independent third-party assurance. The primary focus of the role is to lead and manage the program across thevarious work streams, including stakeholder management and facilitation of a variety of diverse, high-profile stakeholder working groups.
The candidate will work closely with the Technical Director, CEO, large multinational companies,representatives from the environmental NGO community as well as the internal teams working on these topics.

⭐ Here’s an idea of what tasks you might be working on:
- Lead our Market Based Measures Program, including Book and Claim Community and our Conformity Assessment Scheme.
- Day-to-day project management and oversight of the overall work plan for the alignment and further development of the program and all its aspects under a common umbrella.
- Development and implementation of a communication and public engagement plan that conveys a compelling and coherent messaging about market-based measures and the necessity for having assurance processes in place to external stakeholders and lead stakeholder engagement with a focus on delivery.
- Ensuring alignment across several work streams focused on different aspects of the development and advancement of market measures for transport decarbonization.
- Organizing and leading work group meetings, distilling key takeaways from meetings and conveying that information to meeting participants and others, navigating both expert audiences and high-profile stakeholders alike.
- Applying communication and facilitation skills to guide and encourage a range of stakeholders with different interests to achieve consensus and to agree to concrete decisions and actions.
- Manage the current Conformity Assessment Scheme and its transition into the new overall setup, ensuring adequate focus and organization of resources.
Ideal candidate
⭐ As the ideal candidate you will demonstrate:
- Exceptional facilitation, communication, program and project management skills.
- Technical knowledge of emissions accounting, accounting practices for market-based measures in transportation and how these impacts are reported and verified
- Knowledge of verification and validation processes for emissions reports, preferably also for market-based measures
- Technical skills and understanding of freight transport sector and its decarbonization challenges.
- Three or more years of work experience in the sustainability and-or climate change space, preferably in the freight and logistics sector.
- A strong track record of excellent stakeholder engagement.
- Proven success in developing new programs and delivering impactful projects.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment.
- A proactive, organized, and innovative work attitude.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to make technical content accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in English, comparable to a native English speaker. Additional language skills welcome.
- Experience in training facilitation skills preferred.
- Ability to work independently and also within a team.
- Ability to easily adapt to changing situations and prioritize accordingly.
- Ability to work in a structured and logical manner.
