The Sr Manager / DGM – SCM (BOS) will handle end-to-end procurement of Balance of System (BOS) components for solar EPC projects in India. He will lead a team of buyers and ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement to meet project schedules
This includes managing procurement strategy, vendor development, negotiations, contracting, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality BOS materials and services to meet project execution timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Prepare and execute procurement plans for BOS items. Ensure alignment with project timelines, engineering inputs, and quality requirements. Drive cost savings and develop alternate/local suppliers.
Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable suppliers. Maintain supplier database and build long-term relationships. Conduct supplier audits with Quality and Engineering teams.
Negotiation & Contract Finalization:
- Lead negotiations for pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules. Finalize purchase orders and contracts as per company policies. Ensure all commercial and risk terms are properly covered.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure seamless procurement and material management.
- Support Engineering in BOM finalization and technical evaluations for BOS packages.
Execution & Delivery Monitoring:
- Track procurement status for all projects. Coordinate with Engineering, Project, Logistics, and Quality teams for timely delivery. Resolve supplier issues quickly to avoid project delays.
Cost Control & MIS Reporting:
- Track market trends, commodity pricing, and maintain cost databases.
- Ensure procurement within approved budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide regular MIS reports to management on procurement status, savings, and risks.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical procurement practices, and regulatory compliances.
- Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation plans.
Desired Profile:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical / Mechanical ).
- MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred but not mandatory).
- MBA preferred. 10–15 years of procurement experience in Solar/EPC/Power industry. Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Experience in leading teams and managing BOS procurement.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing BOS procurement for domestic projects as must have led a team of 5 – 10 buyers under him.
