What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
You’ll create detailed electrical designs for commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems. From string layouts and single-line diagrams to panel schedules, your work will be central to project execution. You’ll ensure compliance with codes, update design registers, and maintain version control. You’ll work closely with U.S.-based engineers to meet deadlines and ensure precision across all deliverables.
Where you’ll be doing it
Our client is a U.S.-based leader in the renewable energy sector, specialising in large-scale solar developments. Operating at the forefront of commercial solar innovation, they’ve built a collaborative culture that spans continents. Their South African team works fully remotely, playing a key role in projects that power sustainable growth across the U.S.
What you’ll need
You have at least 3 years of electrical drafting experience, ideally in solar or MEP settings. You’re proficient in AutoCAD and confident interpreting electrical schematics. Bonus points if you’ve used tools like Helioscope or PVsyst. Above all, you’re accurate, methodical, and comfortable working late shifts aligned with U.S. Central Time.
