What You'll Do
Reporting to the Commissioner, the Project Coordinator – Nuclear Energy is responsible for advancing the County’s engagement with Bruce Power (project proponent) on the Bruce C Project. This position will assist in providing timely information and input to Bruce Power, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission throughout the Impact Assessment Process. This project will liaise with municipal partners to coordinate information, collect data, complete research, and deliver outputs needed to support the County’s contribution to the Impact Assessment process. As the Bruce C Project progresses, the County will prepare for short-term and longer-term impacts which may include increased population, increased demand for infrastructure and services, and potential workforce pressures. This role will help assess community impacts and seek opportunities to advance community readiness initiatives related to the project.
Contract Duration: 18 months
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
•Post-secondary education in Project Management, Public Administration, Economic Development or a related field
•Certification in project management is an asset
•Three years' experience in a project coordinator, project manager or related role
•Experience overseeing project budgets
Skills & Abilities
•Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
•Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
•Demonstrated time management skills
•Demonstrated data and project management skills, including the ability to manage projects through all phases from start up to finish
•Demonstrated communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to interact with elected officials, government agencies, employers, residents and peers with diplomacy and tact
•Ability to hold sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
•Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships
•Effective leadership skills
•Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
•Familiarity with County and local municipal service delivery
What We Offer
•Competitive Salary: $47.74 – $56.17 per hour
•Hours per week: 35
•Percentage in lieu of benefits
