Responsibilities
- Main point of contact for Project Execution team for technical issues
- Interface closely with the Product R&D team in Trina HQ for topics relating to the mechanical, electrical, thermal and BMS for solving site issues
- Interface with customer as Trina’s technical expert
- Continuously improving production line with feedback from customers, project execution team with emphasis on performance-based components
- Ownership of product documentation development and management, including documentation for both internal and external audiences.
- Interface with Product R&D to ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards in the design and engineering of current and future generations of the Elementa
- Lead design analysis, modelling and validation tasks (DRA, SC, Arc flash studies, ERP, etc.)
- Work with Project Execution team to get feedback for improvement into design / production processes of Trina’s product
- Working with other equipment suppliers (PCS, MV Skid and PPC) to qualify and validate integration of Trina Batteries/PCS with their products
- Collect, summarize and analyze the Customer Requirements (CRs) received and standards (grid compliance, cybersecurity, etc.) on project opportunities to be used for the products roadmap.
- Work collaboratively within the regional and product support teams to fulfill the CRs and/or meet applicable standards, including the associated cost and cycle time.
- Provides technical inputs on hardware and software system design and capabilities cross-functionally to internal and external Customers
- Lead the creation and maintenance of the technical commercial documentation related to the product in coordination with the different stakeholders.
- Design and conduct technical internal and external training on new product introductions.
- Support customers as technical advisor in finding creative solutions to address complex projects.
- Analysis of competitor solutions and insights into what development is needed to increase differentiation or close gaps.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Systems
- 5+ years of engineering background in utility scale electrical power systems
- 2+ years of experience in BESS integration from cell to PCS
- Knowledge of technical requirements of ISOs, DSO and TSO owners, and compliance with interconnection agreements
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate results.
- Ability to review contracts and technical requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated mission driven project management experience and an advanced planning mindset to address schedule and resource constraints.
- Proven ability to learn fast.
- Possesses strong interpersonal communications skills to coordinate with diverse internal and external teams worldwide.
- Demonstrates sound business judgement.
- Takes individual initiative and works with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.
- Works dynamically, across multiple teams and projects concurrently, in a technical business environment.
- Possesses an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude.
- Experience in and knowledge of Agile development methods
- Demonstrated track record of managing a technical product with dispersed functional teams and a global supply chain
- Ability to utilize date and statistical analyses to make informed decision
- Has excellent English verbal and writing skills. German language or intervational work experience are a plus.
- Willing to travel domestically and international up to 30%
