The Role:
BG&E is looking for a talented infrastructure sustainability professional who wants to be part of our growing, enthusiastic and highly collaborative team. We are passionate about embedding sustainability into design, and excited about the opportunities within BG&E and from our clients.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to get in and grow their career through projects in transport and infrastructure sectors. You will work alongside our highly skilled technical teams who are driven by a passion to help clients achieve their goals and improve society for today and future generations. You will have the opportunity to broaden your existing skills through exposure to a diverse range of projects, services and clients.
Key Accountabilities:
- Working closely with Design teams to embed sustainability into design processes for infrastructure projects across BG&E (nationally and globally)
- Management of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council’s IS rating tool for infrastructure projects, and other ratings as required, including management and advice on credits within the scheme
- Grow BG&E’s capability in decarbonisation, resilience and climate risk, supply chain sustainability, resource efficiency and improving social outcomes.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for the Sustainability team to grow
- Support bids and proposal development
About You:
There is flexibility in the role and career development options in this growing team. The following skills are required:
- Curious problem solver with knowledge and experience in sustainability-related fields including, but not limited to, lifecycle assessments, embodied carbon calculations and decarbonisation plans for infrastructure.
- Passionate about sustainability, with experience working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainability initiatives, apply sustainability approaches and solutions in transport, infrastructure projects or corporate settings.
- Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis.
- Experience in delivery of Infrastructure Sustainability ratings, or specific credits.
- Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (or willing to work towards this)
- Relevant engineering or science qualifications
- You may also have skills, or wish to grow in the following areas:
- Client liaison and experience in workshop facilitation
- Knowledge and experience in sustainability strategy development and implementation.
- Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies and tools to help clients navigate complexity and bring insights to clients’ sustainability and decarbonisation journeys.
