Job Description
Assist in the development of "Loop", a circularity chatbot companion for GE Vernova Circularity practitioners, featuring advanced circularity capabilities & datasets.
Potential Project Outcomes
1) Functional Prototype of “Loop”: A working chatbot interface integrated with conversational AI, capable of answering circularity-related questions and guiding users through processes.
2) Circularity Knowledge Base: A structured database of GE Vernova’s circularity principles, best practices, policies, and reference datasets integrated into the chatbot for real-time responses.
3) Advanced Circularity Features: Development of features such as material flow analysis, lifecycle assessment support, or closed-loop opportunity identification within the chatbot experience.
4) Scalability & Security Roadmap: Documentation outlining how “Loop” can scale across GE Vernova business units while maintaining data privacy, security, and compliance.
5) Impact Assessment Metrics: Defined KPIs (e.g., reduction in time spent searching for circularity resources, user adoption rate) and a baseline report for future success tracking.
Primary Skills Developed:
Conversational AI Development – Building and refining chatbot functionality using NLP tools.
Circular Economy Expertise – Understanding circularity principles and sustainable business practices.
Data Integration & Analysis – Managing and leveraging datasets for advanced chatbot capabilities.
User Experience Design – Designing intuitive chatbot interactions for practitioner needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working with sustainability and technology teams to deliver solutions.

Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree, MBA, or Doctorate in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum GPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.
Proven experience or coursework in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or natural language processing.
Demonstrated familiarity with sustainability concepts and the circular economy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior internship or research experience in sustainability, AI, or digital transformation projects.
Experience developing conversational AI solutions, chatbots, or related applications.
Hands-on proficiency with programming languages such as Python, and relevant AI/NLP libraries.
Knowledge of data integration, database management, and data privacy/security best practices.
Exposure to lifecycle assessment (LCA), material flow analysis (MFA), or environmental impact modeling.
Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary or cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles, especially for digital tools in sustainability.
Passion for advancing the energy transition and supporting climate action through innovative solutions.

The pay for this position ranges from $1,000 - $2,000 weekly based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
