For more than 50 years, LCV has fought for solutions to the interconnected threats our environment and democracy face. We do so by working with and holding elected officials accountable, mobilizing, organizing, and building grassroots power in communities, electing candidates who share our values, and partnering with and supporting our 30+ state affiliates across the country.
The Congressional Champions Campaign works to cultivate, engage, and amplify champions in Congress working to combat the climate crisis, protect clean air and water, secure environmental justice, advocate for federal conservation policies, fight dirty energy, and defend our democracy.
LCV is hiring a Congressional Champions Campaign Intern who will provide valuable support to the Congressional Champions Campaign in identifying opportunities to uplift members of Congress, drafting social media amplification, monitoring press conferences, hearings, and other events for Champs coverage, and drafting a weekly digest. Special projects may include leading a digital engagement, like an advocacy video with Congressional champions on one of our key issues. The Congressional Champions Campaign Intern will join a Summer 2026 internship cohort that will participate in development opportunities, including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide training and discussions. Summer interns participate in brown bag lunches with various members of LCV�s senior management team.
This position is classified as �Regular Hybrid Work�, which means the position is assigned to an LCV office where they spend one to four days per week and work the rest of the week remotely. The position is expected to be one to two days in the Washington, DC office or on Capitol Hill for press conferences, events or other in-person departmental meetings.

Intern Will Gain Experience in:

Amplifying Congressional Champions on digital and social media platforms.

Monitoring Congressional social media accounts and leadership actions on LCV�s policy priorities.

Covering press conferences, hearings, and other live events to amplify important initiatives and action by Congressional champions.

Leading a digital engagement with Member(s) of Congress to amplify their leadership around one of LCV�s core issue areas.

Drafting a weekly digest to highlight the weekly efforts and digital amplification by the Congressional Champions Campaign.

Joining and participating in weekly coordination through departmental and cross-departmental meetings.

Actively centering racial justice and equity in digital amplification and written materials shared with Members of Congress.
