Overview:
As a Specialist Outbound Process and Structure Planner, you will lead the development and cross-functional alignment of Scout Motors’ on-site finished vehicle yard and associated processes. This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s outbound operations, driving operational excellence, and implementing cutting-edge systems to support our all-electric vehicle production.
What you’ll do

- Outbound Yard Planning: Design and develop efficient outbound yard layouts and processes to support vehicle dispatch operations for a new manufacturing facility.
- Infrastructure Development: Define requirements for yard infrastructure, including vehicle storage areas, loading zones, and traffic flow to ensure optimal space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Process Design: Establish standardized outbound processes for vehicle handling, staging, and loading, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- System Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to implement and configure Yard Management Systems (YMS) and ensure seamless integration with plant and logistics systems.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze production forecasts and transportation schedules to determine yard capacity requirements and develop contingency plans for peak volumes.
- Supplier Coordination: Lead RFQ/RFI processes for logistics service providers, evaluate proposals, and ensure alignment with operational and cost objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing process flows and performance data. Identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for onsite outbound logistics. Develop actionable reports and dashboards to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
- Based on your expertise and evolving business needs, you may be assigned additional tasks within logistics planning beyond those explicitly listed.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline required.
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven background in automotive outbound logistics planning is essential.
- Specialized Expertise: Demonstrated experience in outbound infrastructure planning, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience in designing automotive outbound processes and infrastructure (including FBU yards), as well as managing logistics service provider procurement activities (RFQ/RFI documentation).
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with defining business requirements, implementing, and managing Yard Management Systems is considered an advantage.
- Analytical Competence: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in delivering clear, impactful presentations.
- Project Leadership: Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Strong communication and influencing capabilities to align stakeholders and drive results.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
