Electrical Estimator
Overview: Seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in electrical service for existing commercial and industrial businesses. The ideal candidate will deliver accurate cost estimates for service upgrades, repairs, tenant improvements, and maintenance projects within operational business environments.
Responsibilities
Accurately estimate scope, labor, and material costs for service work in existing facilities.
Analyze electrical plans, field reports, and service requests—site visits included.
Identify project needs, sequence of work, potential risks, and code compliance issues in occupied or operational settings.
Collaborate with service managers, technicians, vendors, and clients to clarify project requirements and resolve scope discrepancies.
Prepare detailed, competitive bids and proposals for electrical service work, including emergency repairs, retrofits, and upgrades.
Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current labor and material pricing.
Recommend solutions to improve project profitability and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
5+ years’ experience estimating and managing electrical service projects for existing commercial or industrial clients.
Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
Experience performing site walks in active facilities with minimal disruption to operations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, service tickets, and project documentation.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficiency with estimating software
Valid electrician’s license preferred or equivalent field experience.
Detail-oriented, able to work under deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Preferred
Degree or coursework in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Experience in service-oriented roles, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and emergency repairs.
Familiarity with project management and customer relationship management tools.
