Position Overview
The Site Surveyor plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, high-quality data collection for all residential solar projects. This position bridges the gap between sales, engineering, and installation teams by performing detailed on-site evaluations to capture electrical, structural, and roofing information needed for final design and permitting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site surveys for assigned builder and retail solar projects.
Collect detailed field data on:
Roof pitch, azimuth, and conditions.
Electrical service panels, meters, and grounding.
Structural integrity and attic/rafter layouts (where accessible).
Take clear, high-resolution photos following Terra’s standardized field checklist.
Upload all measurements, photos, and notes to company systems (Aurora, Coperniq, or equivalent) within 24 hours of survey completion.
Identify and report potential issues such as roof condition, access, safety, or structural limitations.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineering to clarify findings or provide additional documentation.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper ladder use, roof safety, PPE, and electrical safety requirements.
Maintain company equipment and tools in proper condition.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in solar, roofing, or electrical fieldwork (preferred).
Basic understanding of residential electrical systems, roof structures, and construction fundamentals.
Comfortable working outdoors and accessing roofs (ladders, attic spaces, etc.).
Proficiency with digital tools for measurements and documentation (laser measurers, tablets, or mobile apps).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Florida or Texas).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred, but not required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $50,000 annually (W2)
Performance Bonus: $5,000 per year (based on quality and accuracy)
Mileage Reimbursement: At the IRS rate
