We’re recruiting on behalf of a Cape Town-based client seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join their engineering team. As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for organizing, scheduling, and monitoring engineering projects — ensuring that every element runs efficiently from concept to handover. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
This role will see you:
- Prepare, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers and contractors to ensure optimal project execution
- Monitor compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and design specifications
- Manage budgets, timelines, and client expectations
- Review and approve electrical and solar system designs
- Oversee project handover and support operational teams post-installation
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BEng/BTech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- 4+ years’ experience in solar power, manufacturing, or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVSyst, and PV Sol
- Familiar with FIDIC, NEC, and JBCC contracts
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Analytical, solutions-driven, and accountable in your work
