DescriptionOur Environmental business in Santiago is looking for an Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join their team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects. This role will be based in Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile.
The main purpose of the role is to participate in projects that involve investigation and assessment of contamination of different environmental matrices (soil, groundwater, and others). Coordinate field work and activities associated with environmental investigations and create technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure projects or projects to address environmental challenges. Using knowledge from various scientific disciplines the role may include the collection and synthesizing of samples and environmental data, and recommend action based on data derived from measurement.
This position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications.
- Coordinate field work associated with environmental investigations, Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OM&M) sites, and remediation activities that will include drilling, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, excavation, vapor sampling, etc.
- Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, and evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards in different jurisdictions not just in Chile, but across the Americas.
- Understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants including VOCs, SVOCs, metals, PCBs, and PFAS.
- Being accountable to a global team, demonstrating the ability to work seamlessly across different time zones.
- Progressing tasks to a reasonable point, waiting for clarification opportunities, and then picking them back up with minimal reworking.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in environmental consulting including environmental projects from investigation to remediation, remedial design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation and project coordination.
- Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
- Interested in continuing professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with remote team members on various projects and different time zones
- Must be flexible with project types and responsibilities.
- Self-starter, detail oriented, and willingness to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 software
- Fluent in English and excellent writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and willingness to meet challenging deadlines.
