As part of this effort, Swaniti is seeking an experienced Energy Storage Consultant to support technical, financial, and policy analysis that will guide deployment of distributed and grid -connected storage solutions.<\/span>

The consultant will collaborate closely with state DISCOMs, energy departments, policy institutions, renewable energy industries, and federations to conduct feasibility studies, techno -economic modelling, and regulatory assessments for ESS. The role will also involve coordinating with internal teams on renewable energy, data analytics, and policy to ensure<\/span>

This position will report to Swaniti’s Vertical Lead –Energy and Environment and work in close coordination with the Renewable Energy and Policy Teams. While the engagement will focus primarily on stakeholder consultations, case study research, data analysis, and mapping of India’s energy storage landscape, the consultant may also contribute to broader analytical and advisory assignments supporting Swaniti’s national energy transition initiatives.<\/span><\/span>

The Energy Storage Consultant will play a pivotal role in supporting Swaniti’s energy transition work by providing technical, analytical, and strategic inputs on distributed and grid -scale battery storage initiatives.

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/span><\/div> Technical & Financial Analysis: Conduct techno -economic and financial feasibility assessments for distributed and grid -connected energy storage systems, with a focus on DISCOM -level applications.
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li> Data Analytics & Modelling: Use quantitative tools and models to evaluate storage performance, cost -benefit ratios, and integration potential with renewables at state and distribution utility levels.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate consultations with DISCOMs, state energy departments, policy think tanks, and private sector players to gather insights and co -develop actionable recommendations.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Knowledge Products: Prepare reports, policy briefs, and presentations synthesizing key findings and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders, including funders and government partners.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li> Advisory Support: Contribute to the design of pilot interventions, such as battery storage deployment models at substation or feeder levels, and identify financing options or PPP structures to enable implementation.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/li>Policy & Regulatory Research: Review and analyse India’s evolving energy storage policies, regulatory frameworks, and incentive mechanisms to identify opportunities for scaling deployment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Deliver a comprehensive report summarizing findings, including policy recommendations and implementation pathways for DISCOMs and state energy departments.<\/span>

Educational Background<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>

Master’s degree (or higher) in Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, Sustainability Studies, or a related field. Candidates with postgraduate diplomas or equivalent professional certifications in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designing will be given preference.

Experience<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>

<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/div> Minimum 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in renewable energy, advance energy storage solutions, or power systems planning, preferably working with government agencies, utilities (DISCOMs), or research institutions.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li> Exposure to state and national energy policy frameworks, including MNRE, CEA, and CERC/ SERC guidelines, is desirable.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li> Prior engagement with development partners, multilateral agencies, or think tanks on clean energy transition projects will be an added advantage.<\/span>
