To develop, implement, and monitor effective health, safety, and environmental management systems ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The role focuses on risk management, accident prevention, and fostering a strong safety culture across the Project Sites.
Key Responsibilities
Policy & System Development
- Formulate and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001), and client requirements.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and environmental impact analysis.
- Ensure statutory compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report on HSE performance indicators (accidents, incidents, near misses, LTIs).
- Investigate incidents/accidents and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks, and refresher training.
- Promote awareness of safe working practices and environmental protection.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement emergency response and disaster management plans.
- Conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency exercises.
Environmental Management
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices.
- Implement energy-saving, waste reduction, and resource optimization programs.
Team Leadership
- Lead HSE officers and site safety supervisors.
- Drive safety culture improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (mandatory/preferred).
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 management systems
- Experience in sectors like construction, oil & gas, power, manufacturing, or heavy industries.
