Substation Engineer - Protection & Controls
100% Remote | Direct Opportunity with ExecuPOWER
ExecuPOWER is growing and we are looking for a talented Substation Engineer - Protection & Controls to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key technical contributor, working closely with project engineers, designers, and clients to deliver industry-leading substation projects. What You'll Do
- Partner with P&C Designers/Drafters to develop protection & control drawings and documentation
- Collaborate with internal and external project teams across multiple disciplines
- Provide technical support for procurement and construction
- Engage with clients, building strong relationships and delivering on project needs
- Develop key deliverables such as:
- One-line & three-line diagrams
- Control, alarm, and communication schematics
- Panel front views, wiring diagrams, and control house layouts
- Equipment and P&C specifications
- Bills of material, I/O mapping, relay settings, and design calculations
- Perform engineering calculations including:
- DC battery & charger sizing
- AC/DC system analysis & station service sizing
- Overcurrent protection, voltage drop, CT/VT sizing
- Short-circuit & arc flash analysis (preferred)
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of substation engineering experience (more experience welcome)
- Strong foundation in protection & control design and analysis
- PE license not required, but pursuing licensure is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and client focus
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client site visits
