Job Title: O&M Solar PV Engineer

Reports To: Head of Solar Department

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive O&M Solar PV Engineer to oversee the operation and
maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of
experience in solar PV O&M, with strong technical expertise in troubleshooting, performance
optimization, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of solar assets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Maintenance:
Monitor, inspect, and maintain solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize
downtime.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on PV modules,
inverters, LV Panels, transformers, and other system components.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and communications-related issues in PV
plants.
Perform remote and on-site monitoring, analysing system performance, and identifying
efficiency improvements.
Coordinate and schedule the cleaning cycles for PV solar systems.
Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
2. Performance Analysis & Reporting:
Analyse performance data from dataloggers, SCADA and monitoring platforms to detect
anomalies and efficiency losses.
Generate technical reports on system performance, energy yield, downtime, and fault analysis.
Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve system efficiency and reliability.
3. Compliance & Safety:
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during all site
activities.
Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to prevent hazards and ensure regulatory
compliance.
Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and work orders.
4. Coordination & Technical Support:
Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for system upgrades, warranty
claims, and technical support.
Provide training and guidance to field technicians on maintenance procedures and best
practices.
Assist in budgeting for O&M activities, including spare parts procurement and service contracts.
5. Key Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy.
Experience: 3–5 years in O&M of solar PV plants, preferably in utility-scale or large
projects in Bahrain or GCC.
Strong understanding of PV system components, inverters, transformers, and SCADA systems.
6. Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of PV system components, inverters, transformers, and SCADA systems.
Experience with thermographic inspections, IV curve tracing, and power quality analysis.
Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.).
PV System Maintenance Certifications.
7. Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a
team.
8. Language:
Professional proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
9. Work Environment & Conditions:
The role requires field visits and outdoor work in varying environmental conditions.
Must be available for on-call duties for troubleshooting and emergency maintenance.
Travel to multiple project sites may be required.
