They are currently looking for a Port Environmental Lead to be based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensure environmental awareness is raised and promoted at all levels in the organization through HSSE trainings and meetings on the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical, and social responsibility.
· Develop and create Sea Mobility Environmental Program
· Develop strategies to meet Sea Mobility requirements
· Create environmental policies and procedures to support Sea Mobility activities
· Create a reporting management system that monitors and measures environmental compliance
· Identify environmental risks and provide mitigation solutions to reduce risk
· Coach operational staff in environmental leadership
· Create awareness of Sea Mobility and environmental standards through a Sea Mobility Environmental Communication Plan for internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers
· Championing innovative solutions for environmental awareness and leadership
· Liaise with regulatory bodies and Authorities
· Provide both technical and management supervision to match forecast project delivery demand.
· Procure and manage environmental consultants that support the Assessment & Monitoring team
· Coordinate the Environmental Assessment process including day to day coordination of project timelines and deliverables, acting as an interface between the Environmental team and Sea Mobility
· Communicate environmental and sustainability standards to internal and external stakeholders
· Review and assessment of technical environmental approval reports and documentation submitted, in line with client’s policy and planning objectives.
· Ensure continued alignment of Sea Mobility’s environmental planning and approval systems with IFC performance standards and world’s best practice.
· Enforce, supervise, and control the implementation of client’s environmental policy and practices through inspections and environmental awareness campaign.
· Ensure the regular environmental inspections/audits, anomalies, reports and monitoring of improvement actions are followed up through action lists with delivery dates and accountability owners
· Coordinates all aspects of pollution control, waste management, environmental health and renewable energy.
· Ensures that environmental risk assessment is carried out for any activity that poses risk to the environment.
· Maintain records of all environmental documentation (environmental dossier, waste management plan, aspect and impact register, spill containment plan, environmental records, etc.)
· Ensure all incidents, unsafe observations and environmental anomalies are reported promptly via Share Point and preliminary investigations carried out.
· Reporting of daily summary activity to the HSSE Manager
· Compliance monitoring of proper waste segregation, evacuation and tracking to the point of disposal in accordance with environmental standards.
· Ensure that all third-party contractors comply with client’s environmental requirements and standards.
Qualification & Requirements:
· As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or similar.
· Membership of a recognized Environmental professional body.
· A Master’s degree is preferred.
· At least ten (10) years’ experience across the fields of environmental assessment and/or approvals.
· Experience coordinating and delivering environmental planning and assessment services in an advanced regulatory system
· Experience in industrial application of environmental policy, procedures, and compliance
· Creation of environmental policies and procedures in an industrial environment
· At least three (3) years’ experiences as a Health & Safety or Environmental professional within a recognized commercial organization with preference for port or similar industry
· Knowledge of operations in an industry environment
· Must possess qualities of integrity, patience, and empathy, outstanding interpersonal skills
· Strong written and verbal communication & report writing skills
· Proven record of successfully coordinating environmental assessments or regulatory approvals.
· Strong technical environmental skills across marine or terrestrial built and natural environments and/or sustainability.
· Ability to positively communicate and interact with all levels within team and external parties
