The Opportunity
Join our R&D-I&S team within Global Procurement as an intern and make a direct impact on our sustainability initiatives!
As an R&D Market Solutions intern you will be working on a physical hub solution, which focuses on the maintenance and repair thermomixes and the calibration of pipettes. The Hub, located in the pRED center in Basel, allows scientists to conveniently scan their equipment for necessary maintenance.
In this hands-on role, you will:
Lead the sustainability assessment of the Hub: Analyze its environmental footprint across its lifecycle, and compare the footprint of maintaining versus discarding thermomixers
Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments: Utilize established methodologies and develop innovative approaches to quantify the environmental impacts.
Develop and propose data-driven sustainability analyses: Design and implement robust analyses that provide actionable insights for improving sustainability.
Drive tangible environmental improvements: Your work will directly contribute to reducing our environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable future.
Enhance your skills in a dynamic and global environment: You will be part of a global team, working on projects with significant impact and expanding your professional network.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies, preferably in the field of Process Engineering, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering studies at a university, within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore, you are
Knowledgeable in carbon footprint reporting, environmental data analysis and understanding of evaluating environmental impacts across a product's lifecycle (LCA).
Able to:
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, evaluate problems, and provide solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
Fluent in English, German would be a benefit
