POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Group Reservationist books and disseminates information about the Zoo & Aquarium’s group sales opportunities, as well as garners and confirms program participation and details. This position also collects and acknowledges paid fees, as well as coordinates booking details with the operating and executing departments.

Assists with bookings for all group sales programs, including:
- Answering calls and speaking to guests interested in booking group tickets and onsite events. This list includes, but is not limited to, the general public, schools, teachers, group leaders, meeting and event planners.
- Entering bookings and group information into Galaxy and/or computer database, in a timely manner.
- Processing and sending confirmations to program participants and communicating with Zoo staff for a timely dissemination of information, including printing tickets, as well as sending calendar invites and event order information to appropriate departments for execution.
- Collecting fees for tickets and events.
- Maintaining updated databases.
- Providing superior customer service.
- Maintaining an updated and thorough knowledge of all aspects of the guest experience at the Zoo & Aquarium in order to answer questions and promote group bookings and events.
- Maintaining a safe and clean workspace.

Assists with onsite execution of events, including:
- Coordinating and assisting with event load-in and out with clients.
- Showing clients perspective event spaces

Occasionally assisting admissions staff with greeting guests and ticket sales during peak flow periods.

Assists in the promotion of the Zoo’s programs and events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with data entry and office management strongly preferred.
- Previous guest service experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn database/ticketing programs, such as Galaxy, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
