POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, the Rides Mechanic is responsible for the daily repair, maintenance and restoration of all Zoo & Aquarium rides, including the tram, train, carousel, Sky Safari and boat.
 
POSITION DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

			Percentage

			Responsible for repairs and periodic maintenance of all Zoo & Aquarium rides, including tram, train and tracks, carousel, Sky Safari and boat.

			80%

			Responsible for assisting with the daily opening of rides, including testing and safety checks.

			10%

			Assists Fleet Services Manager with various aspects of implementing and executing the department’s preventive maintenance program.

			10%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:

	High school diploma or equivalent required.
Trade school certification/diploma in automotive related area preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
	Minimum 3 years’ automotive experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience with amusement park rides and repair preferred.
Comprehensive and working knowledge of automotive systems, including small gas engines.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
	Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds with or without assistance. Assistance depending upon task or role. 
Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
Must pass a background and drug screening.
