Job Description Summary
The Senior Engineer in Gas Turbine Product Service Engineering is instrumental in leading investigations and delivering solutions for customer challenges related to the Hot Gas Path sub-system. This expert serves as a crucial link, working in collaboration with both customers and GE Vernova's Gas Power engineering teams. The role provides a platform for engaging in cross-functional efforts to diagnose root causes, develop effective resolutions, and employ problem-solving strategies. Additionally, the position entails making informed decisions with limited data, leveraging project management techniques, and maintaining direct communication with customers to improve service quality, delivery, and overall satisfaction.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Lead efforts to address and resolve complex technical issues within the hot gas path section swiftly and effectively. Collaborate with various interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services operations, quality, and design engineering to ensure comprehensive solutions.
- Identify emerging issues and develop countermeasures to safeguard the fleet. Effectively communicate the progress of customer issues and engineering recommendations across all organizational levels, both internally within GE Vernova and externally with customer leadership, including plant operators.
- Offer technical guidance and support on critical issues during new unit installation, unplanned or forced outage work activities, and in-service unplanned disruptions. Ensure adherence to critical business metrics related to quality and timeliness.
- Represent GE Vernova Gas Power at industry conferences, user groups, and customer events to discuss fleet issues and share mitigation strategies and resolutions.
- Facilitate the development of team members by authoring and sharing lessons and best practices. Ensure the dissemination of valuable insights and knowledge.
- Provide technical support to the commercial teams if needed, ensuring technical aspects are accurately represented and addressed.
- Assist Controlled Title Holders (CTH) in identifying analytics and improvement ideas aimed at predicting anomalies, estimate accurate resolutions, enabling quicker resolution of customer issues etc.
- Collaborate with Technical Leaders and CTHs to promote the dissemination of cross-platform learnings and raise awareness of global fleet issues.
- Mentor young/new team members and Edison Engineering Development Program members to enable them on the assimilation process.
Basic Qualifications
- Graduate degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Experience in gas turbine design engineering focused on hot gas path section
