In this role, you will:
- Foster collaboration across operating groups to drive innovation and sustainability.
- Support net-zero carbon planning, deep retrofits, and decarbonization projects, including tracking incentives.
- Audit residential buildings to identify energy, water, and carbon savings; prepare assessment reports (Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver).
- Analyze utility data to resolve operational issues with site staff.
- Develop business cases for retrofit projects, factoring in costs, life cycle analysis, and incentives.
- Manage utility data for reporting purposes.
- Oversee sustainability project installations and commissioning in Toronto.
- Conduct due diligence for acquisitions.
- Advise on sustainability features for new rental developments and estimate utility usage.
- Contribute to various sustainability initiatives and other duties, as needed.
We would like you to have:
Education:
- Minimum relevant post-secondary education in Engineering, (P.Eng., EIT) with a focus on designing building mechanical systems or building operation/maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), LEED GA or LEED AP+ Specialty designations would be an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 year’s experience in the following: energy efficiency or management, building system design (mechanical), building commissioning or building operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- A passion for sustainability
- Understanding of operation and maintenance of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Lighting, Building Automation, Controls and other building systems
- Ability to read and understand building drawings and specifications
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook
- Knowledge of the following is an asset:
- Energy Star Portfolio Manager, RETScreen, Yardi Pulse
- LEED, Fitwel, PassiveHouse certification systems
- GRESB, EWRB
