Summary: The Function Manager is responsible for every aspect of the successful execution of the event. This includes but is not limited to set up, employee job performance, food presentation, customer satisfaction, and cleanup.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned:SETUP: - Verifies that all catering staff is on time and has the proper job assignment; makes sure each employee as signed in on the Function Labor Sheet
- Verifies that all catering staff is properly dressed for the assigned job;
- Ensures that the function is set according to the layout and instructions on the BEO;
- Insures proper food presentation;
- Ensures that all special set up instructions on the BEO are carried out.
- Visually inspects the function room and surrounding area for any possible safety hazards;
- Verifies that security is in place and knows responsibilities during function.
FUNCTION: - Coordinates all employee activities during the function to make sure that each employee is performing the proper tasks at the proper times.
- Greets the client upon their arrival;
- Directs the flow of the function by following the agreed upon timeline;
- Assures that the facility is kept in a safe and hazard-free condition;
- Carries out accident reporting procedures according to the City Park Safety Procedures should the need arise.
BREAKDOWN: - Coordinates all cleanup activities to assure that all employees are performing their assigned duties;
- Assures that every aspect of the facility cleanup is complete using Post Event Checklist. This should be completed prior to employees clocking out for the shift.
- Assures that each employee signs out on the Function Labor Sheet.
- Places Liquor Inventory, Function Labor Sheet, and Post Event Checklist in front of truck for transport back to complex.
- Assures that the facility is secure prior to leaving.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Qualifications and Education Requirements:- High School education/GED with one to two years of food management experience required, preferably in events such as receptions and parties.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must possess a current, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as business dictates.
- Must be able to work outdoors.

The employee will express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, and they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The physical demands will require the employee to regularly lift, adjust, or move objects up to 10 lbs., frequently lift, adjust, or move objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift, adjust, or move objects up to 50 lbs. or more. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
