JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Woker Supervisor (Trails), WS-4749-07 position is located in the Division Maintenance, Roads, and Trails Section, at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Facility types include front and hiking trails, multiuse bike trails, equestrian and handicap accessible trails, drainage, structures, bridges, signage, equine operations, etc. The trail inventory parkwide consists of over 100 miles of existing public and administrative use trail ways. MAJOR DUTIES: Major Duties: The incumbent is responsible for supervising all or part of the trail crew operation and grounds operations for the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and reports directly to the supervisor in charge of the parkwide roads and trails and grounds mowing crew operation. The incumbent will work closely with the Outdoor Recreation Planner, Roads and Trails Facility Manager and the Office of Strategic Planning and Project management in trail planning, trail work planning, and compliance for trail work to help develop and enhance a state-of-the-art trail program in the park. Responsible for submission of requisitions for replacement of backcountry signs to the backcountry sign shop. Responsible for instructing employees on safety requirements for job assignments and for reviewing and reporting accidents. Provides weekly tailgate safety sessions and actively participates in all on-going safety programs. Creates trails projects in the Project Management Information System (PMIS).
