In enterprise architecture at PwC, you will focus on designing and implementing architectural solutions that align with the organisation's overall strategy and goals. Your work will involve understanding business products, business strategies and customer usage of products. You will be responsible for defining architectural principles, analysing business and technology landscapes and translating content / develop frameworks to guide technology decisions and investments. Working in this area, you will have a familiarity with business strategy, processes and experience in business solutions which enable an organisation's technology infrastructure. You will help to confirm that technology infrastructure is optimised, scalable, and aligned with business needs, enabling efficient data flow, interoperability, and agility. Through your work, you will communicate a deep understanding of the business and a broad knowledge of architecture and applications.
ArcGIS Enterprise Platform Architect Engineer
The ArcGIS Enterprise Platform Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, stability, scalability, and efficiency of ArcGIS Enterprise solutions. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, automating operational tasks, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents promptly. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, IT infrastructure, and cloud solutions, specifically Azure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of ArcGIS Enterprise environments through monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
• Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) to streamline operations and automate repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, deploy, and maintain scalable and robust infrastructure, including IaC and configuration automation.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct regular system health checks, implement security best practices, and maintain a disaster recovery plan.
• Stay current with the latest developments in GIS technology, cloud computing, and SRE practices.
• Design and implement comprehensive ArcGIS Enterprise solutions that align with business needs and technical requirements.
• Ensure the integration of ArcGIS Enterprise with other IT systems and cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in GIS IT infrastructure and operations.
• Proven experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, including deployment, configuration, management, and automation.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, architecture, and system integration, specifically with cloud platforms like Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Chef, Terraform, Bicep, and other relevant languages.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Datadog, etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of web services, APIs, and RESTful interfaces.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Knowledge of network security and data protection best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as Esri Technical Certification (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional, or Enterprise System Design Professional) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with Service Now documentation and reporting.
