Your Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementation, management, and continuous improvement of QSHE systems, processes, policies, and tools. Through those efforts, drive improvement of the company’s QSHE performance. Collaborate with and provide advice to management, in order to implement QSHE improvements effectively.
- Leads, manages, and supervises the Brenntag Great Lakes’s QSHE team
- Ensures we exceed customer quality expectations. Communicate effectively and quickly with customers to provide requested information and, when needed, resolve compliance issues.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, DoT, EPA, etc) and applicable quality certifications (ISO 9001, BRC, etc). Ensures all required reporting is completed accurately, approved, and submitted on time.
- Ensures the QSHE team tracks and publishes company performance on leading and lagging safety indicators, contributes to management of change meetings, and assists in all aspects of accident investigation.
- Ensures emergency response systems, policies, and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations.
- Provide technical expertise
- Ensures regular internal site audits are completed annually to confirm facility compliance with regulation, company safety standards, and company operating protocol.
- Serves as an agent of the company to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and local agencies, customers, suppliers, industry related groups, and community entities.
- Performs additional duties as requested
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Safety and Health, EH&S Management, or a related field required.
- 5-7 years of leadership/managerial experience within the QSHE function preferred
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated abilities to both work collaboratively and to influence those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists.
- Demonstrated proficiency with office automation/communication software/Microsoft Office suite.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills with people of various backgrounds, experience, and education levels.
