DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations, plans, policies and procedures for MidAmerican Energy Company.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain Environmental Compliance Management System, tracking of compliance tasks and coordinates completion of records.
Assist with preparation of reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
Support administrative activities necessary for effective management of the environmental department such as processing invoices, regulatory fees, and budget reports.
Evaluates current systems in-place and develops strategies for cost reductions and process improvements.
Provide support for the processing, disposal and recordkeeping of regulated and non-regulated waste to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Support MidAmerican business units in managing environmental compliance activities.
Develops and maintains necessary documentation related to environmental compliance training modules.
Research governmental and industry standards for compliance.
QualificationsZero-two years of environmental experience.
A minimum of three years of experience in environmental work or equivalent, with a minimum of two years demonstrated air, water or waste/land use experience for the coordinator role.
A minimum of five years of experience in environmental work or equivalent, with a minimum of two years demonstrated air, water or waste/land use experience for the sr. coordinator role.
An associates/bachelor's degree preferred.
Basic knowledge of environmental practices and standards.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation, and database computer applications.
Basic math and writing skills, including spelling and grammar.
Ability to analyze and judge reports and records.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good organization skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations.
