We are currently seeking a Sustainable Construction Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead our efforts in incorporating sustainable practices into our construction projects, ensuring that our developments not only meet but exceed industry standards for sustainability.
More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to:
Reduce Embodied Carbon:
- Research materials and construction methods that can reduce embodied carbon in Goodman CE’s logistics and data centre developments, and apply this knowledge to support the procurement of sustainable developments.
- Continuously enhance expertise in embodied carbon reduction strategies for developments.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, including General Contractors, installers, and manufacturers, to support decarbonisation efforts.
- Apply acquired knowledge to support the procurement of sustainable developments.
Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs):
- Analyse design and as-built LCAs to ensure alignment with Goodman CE’s decarbonisation goals.
- Challenge the status quo with regards to existing policy and process for LCA.
- Stay up to date in terms of regulations, applicable norms for EPDs and the evolution of calculation methods (levels, RICS, etc.)
- Utilize insights from embodied carbon reduction research to support development teams in new projects and refurbishments/retrofits
Improve Circularity:
- Assist in evaluating the circularity of procured materials and technologies, focusing on sourcing and end of life
- Contribute to the development and execution of Goodman CE’s Circularity Strategy.
- Assess and track the circularity levels of products.
Waste Management:
- Oversee data collection for ongoing construction and deconstruction projects.
- Identify waste management partners and consultants to maximize recovery rates within CE.
- Ensure all waste management data is collected according to Goodman’s standards.
- Keep up-to-date with new trends and regulations in waste management.
Do you recognize yourself?
+ You have 5 years of experience in sustainable construction, with knowledge of life cycle assessment performance, embodied carbon reduction and circularity.
+ You have a degree in Civil or Material Engineering, with expertise in decarbonising large-scale developments (buildings or infrastructure), or degree in Chemical Engineering with expertise in decarbonized construction materials.
+ You are proficient in dealing with a variety of stakeholders (contractors, manufacturers, etc.)
+ You are familiar with sustainability regulations, norms, innovations and you bring knowledge of industry trends and relevant methodologies.
+ You are resistant to stress, able to navigate in a quickly changing environment and naturally challenge the status quo.
+ Fluency in English is required.
