Support the ESG team in implementing and enhancing sustainability strategies in alignment with regulatory frameworks such as CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and sustainability assessment methodologies like EcoVadis, and Footprint Calculation.
Please note that this in an unpaid internship intended for students currently enrolled in a university program (or similar), as part of their academic curriculum.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive ESG Intern to support our team in analyzing sustainability data, conducting ESG assessments, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations. The intern will be involved in data collection, reporting, benchmarking, and supporting key ESG projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support in ESG Reporting & CSRD Compliance:

Assist in collecting, analyzing, and structuring non-financial data for CSRD-aligned reporting.
Help draft sustainability reports, disclosures, and presentations.

EcoVadis & ESG Ratings:

Assist in EcoVadis assessments and sustainability ratings improvement initiatives.
Benchmark company performance against peers and suggest action plans.

Footprint Calculation & Climate Strategy:

Support in calculating the carbon footprint (Scope 1, 2 & 3) and sustainability impact metrics.
Assist in preparing climate strategy roadmaps in line with SBTi and EU Taxonomy.

Stakeholder Engagement & ESG Benchmarking:

Collaborate with internal teams (BI team, Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations) to gather ESG data.
Research industry best practicesand contribute to sustainable business model improvements.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Bachelor’s programin Sustainability, Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, Finance, Law, or related fields.
Strong interest in corporate sustainability, ESG frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Basic understanding of CSRD, materiality analysis, carbon footprint calculation, and ESG ratings.
Strong analytical and research skillswith the ability to interpret (complex) ESG data.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ESG data visualization toolsis a plus.
Fluent in English(French or Dutch is an advantage).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

As the Head of Finance Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all financial processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections and General Accounting related financial transactions
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal and external controls, and corporate policies
Oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and support cash flow management
Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with key stakeholders to support business strategy and decision-making
Develop and mentor Finance teams to ensure high quality performance and professional growth

Expanded Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage Finance Operations

End-to-end accounting management for the different Lineas entities, covering General Ledger, Revenues, Costs, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, Accounts Payable, and Consolidation – from daily transactional input to month-end closing.
Ensure timely and accurate financial closings (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) within strict deadlines, including cut-offs, provisions, and accruals to ensure financial integrity
Structure and lead the Finance Operations team around key financial processes, including revenue accounting, cost accounting, fixed asset management, customer invoicing, subcontractor invoicing, collections, and dispute resolution
Oversee and optimize the IFRS consolidation process, ensuring compliance with international reporting standards and delivering accurate consolidated financial statements
Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls, working closely with auditors and regulatory bodies
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Controlling, Treasury, and Business Units) to support financial decision-making and reporting accuracy

Process Optimization & Automation

Identify, evaluate, and implement automation tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in financial processes
Streamline financial workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimize processing time
Develop and execute strategies for continuous improvement in finance operations, including process reengineering, system automation, and technology adoption
Lead and oversee Financial system and other Operational system implementations and enhancements, ensuring seamless integration with financial processes
Standardize, document, and optimize Finance Operations processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Foster a culture of digital transformation by promoting automation best practices and upskilling the Finance Operations team on new technologies
Monitor and measure process performance, leveraging data analytics to identify bottlenecks and areas for further optimization
Ensure Finance Operations processes are properly documented, maintained and kept up to date (e.g., in ARIS)

Risk Management & Compliance

Who are we looking for? As an Application Engineer, you provide end-user application support in a 3rd line on a daily basis covering multiple applications. You’re not only answering questions in a structured and understandable way but you’re also continuously trying to educate 2nd line (“shift left”) and / or end-users. You are aligning on a regular basis with our service desk (first & second line) responsible to ensure the software support team respects the defined SLA’s on the different Lineas services.

Using your functional and technical knowledge and skills you are responsible for solving software related incidents and make sure the service is restored as soon as possible. In order to do so you need to work closely together with our infrastructure team, integration team, software analysts and external suppliers. In case of major incidents you play a leading role (based on your expertise and experience) with a focus on bringing the necessary people together in order to resolve the incident and with focus on communication towards (end-)users.

As a guardian of our application production system you are responsible to not only react on alerts but also extend and improve our current monitoring systems preventing incidents from occurring.

As an operational data expert you’ll need to be able to follow and interpret the data flowing through our applications in an production environment using data models (ERD) created by your colleagues, detect issues and propose solutions.

You assist in, supported by our IT Software Analysts and QA engineers, in the execution of (non) regression testing of our applications delivered by our internal and/or external development teams.

What are your duties?

Assist end users in using our applications and answer their questions in a structured and understandable way.

Boeking, reservering en opvolging

De service agent zet klantboekingen om in specifieke reserveringen voor wagons en treinen in het Lineas-klantensysteem (MyLineas). Je begeleidt gebruikers bij het gebruik van MyLineas. Je helpt hen bij problemen en verzorgt trainingen voor nieuwe gebruikers.
De service agent plant de wagons opnieuw in op basis van commerciële input en de operationele situatie. Daarbij houdt hij/zij rekening met de spoorsituatie.
De service agent registreert aanvullende diensten in het VAT Tool, zodat deze correct aan klanten gefactureerd worden.

Optimale planning

Je zoekt balans tussen vraag en aanbod van wagons. Je verkort rotatietijden en verhoogt de productiviteit. Door (her)planning draag je actief bij aan een efficiënter gebruik van middelen.
De service agent minimaliseert het aantal wagons zonder correcte orders en communiceert hierover binnen Lineas. Daarnaast zorg je voor een afronding van bestellingen, zodat deze gefactureerd kunnen worden.
Bij foutieve verzendingen zorg je ervoor dat wagons terugkeren naar een locatie waar ze efficiënt opnieuw ingezet kunnen worden.

Jouw profiel

Je beheert en bouwt klantrelaties op om kansen te creëren en klanttevredenheid te behouden. Je biedt een hoge standaard van dienstverlening. Voor onze klant ben jij Lineas!

Je krijgt van ons een fulltime contract voor onbepaalde tijd. Het salaris start bij €3095 bruto/maand of €3.242,98 (afhankelijk van de ervaring) en hangt af van je ervaring. Verder heb je recht op een 13de maand. Daarnaast voorzien we een aantrekkelijk verzekeringspakket met onder andere een hospitalisatieverzekering, privé-ongevalverzekering, groepsverzekering voor gewaarborgd inkomen en pensioen.

Je ontvangt maaltijdcheques en ecocheques als extra voordelen. Je hebt recht op 23 vakantiedagen en na één jaar krijg je er een dag bij. Verder ontvang je 9 ADV dagen en elke vijf jaar levert je anciënniteit je nog een extra verlofdag op.

Je werklocoatie is afhankelijk van je huidige woonlocatie Brussel/Antwerpen/Mainz/Recklinghausenen en thuiswerk is mogelijk. Je werkt in dagdienst

Wat je doet – elke dag iets anders

Je stelt treinen samen.
Afhankelijk van de locatie waar je werkt bestuur je als lokale treinbestuurder locomotieven om goederen van en naar klanten te brengen.
Je werkt zowel in onze stations en op de site van onze klanten in het havengebied.
Je doet safetychecks, basisonderhoud, remproeven, schouwingen... van je locomotief en maakt hem klaar voor vertrek.

Wie je bent – bij de pinken

Je hebt een diploma A2 (wettelijke verplichting) en een rijbewijs B.
Stipt en betrouwbaar – dat ben jij ten voeten uit.
Je maakt van veiligheid een prioriteit.
Je werkt graag in shiften.
Je houdt altijd het hoofd koel.
Je toont veel verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel.
Zelfstandig of in teamverband werken gaat je uitstekend af.
Je communiceert helder en overtuigend in het Nederlands, met collega-rangeerders én operators.

Wat je krijgt – een motiverend loon met extraatjes

De betaalde opleiding begint op:
02 juni 2025 in Antwerpen, na het voltooien van de opleiding is je werkplaats Antwerpen Noord, Gent of Zeebrugge.
Direct een vast contract, met een startloon van €2901,36 bruto en na 6 maanden vervolgopleiding naar €3403,31. Je loon groeit met dienstjaren. Jouw mentor en trainer begeleiden je om je comfortabel te voelen in je functie
Een functionele bedrijfswagen + tankkaart
Je geniet van voordelen, zoals vakantiegeld en een dertiende maand. Daarnaast ontvang je extra vergoedingen voor je prestaties tijdens shifts. Ook zijn er vaardigheidspremies en groeimogelijkheden binnen je functie, waarbij je beloning toeneemt naarmate je kennis en vaardigheden groeien.
Andere voordelen zijn maaltijdcheques van €8,00 per gewerkte dag, ecocheques van €250,00 per jaar, en een verzekeringspakket met hospitalisatieverzekering, persoonlijke ongevallenverzekering, verzekering gewaarborgd inkomen bij ziekte en groepsverzekering.
Je hebt recht op 23 wettelijke vakantiedagen. Daarbij komen nog 6 dagen voor het inkorten van de werkweek. Na een jaar werken krijg je ook een extra dag vrij. Daarnaast ontvang je 1 dag dienstjarenverlof per 5 gewerkte jaren in dienst.
We dragen bij aan je woon-werkverkeer met woonwerk vergoeding of openbaar vervoer aan 100%.

Wat is jouw profiel?

Je hebt een bachelor of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
Je bent vlot in het Nederlands, en hebt een goede kennis van Frans - bijkomende kennis van Engels of Duits is een plus.
Je werkt nauwkeurig en volledig.
Je hebt zin voor initiatief en kan pro-actief werken.
Je hebt ervaring met het MS Office pakket en hebt een zeer goed kennis van Excel.
Je kan oplossingsgericht werken en durft beslissingen nemen.
