Tomlinson Industrial Waste Division is looking for a passionate, strategic and Environmental leader to fill the role of Environmental Manager for our Ottawa operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure that all sites are operating within their respective certificates of approval
- Verify waste stream characterization to ensure compliance with Reg. 347
- Familiarity with Reg. 347 and153
- Supervise lab staff and ensure that lab equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Provide technical expertise to the sales group
- Responsible for quality control for all inbound/outbound waste
- Amend manifests as required
- Oversee waste processing activities (bulking, blending, neutralization, etc.)
- Categorize waste streams
- Source and negotiate best possible disposal options for various waste streams
- Develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers
- Perform other duties as required
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of current provincial and federal regulations relating to the Environmental industry
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Strong knowledge of Chemistry
- Degree in Environmental Sciences or Chemistry
