Job Summary:
STL is seeking bright candidates that are interested in making a positive impact on the environment and learning more about the environmental science industry. This internship will provide valuable experience to add to your resume. The Pool Technician will collect and transport pool samples that are used to support environmental compliance. Samples are collected and transported in accordance with standard operating procedures. Vehicles, field sampling equipment, and mobile devices are provided by 100% by STL.
**This is a FULL-TIME, SEASONAL internship position from mid to late May 2025 - August 2025 with potential future opportunity for incumbent to be hired as a full-time field technician. This position includes fully paid training as well as a company provided vehicle. All vehicle costs (including gas) are fully paid by STL.**
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive to various client sites in your company-provided vehicle to collect water samples in accordance with established procedures and timeframes;
- Gather and prepare equipment and supplies for each workday;
- Coordinate with team members to ensure all deadlines are met in an efficient manner;
- Prepare, complete, and submit all necessary daily documentation;
- Represent STL in the field and interact/communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional, effective manner;
- Maintain clean and organized company vehicle and return shared workspaces and equipment to appropriate condition;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 3 years with acceptable driving record required;
- Ability to be fully insurable under company's auto insurance policy;
- Ability to safely drive company vehicle frequently during each work shift, including driving in inclement weather conditions;
- Proficiency in Mobile technology (Microsoft Office, iOS, email, and other software);
- Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required to meet client/workload needs;
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires local travel on a day-to-day basis. This position provides the employee with a company vehicle that includes company paid gasoline and auto insurance.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, internship position that works Monday - Friday (approximately 30 to 40 hours per week) in Reading, PA. Work shifts typically start at 9 AM, 10 AM or 11 AM. Some weekend work is required. Weekend pay is 15% higher!
