Location: PA
Duration: 12-month contract to hire
Benefits: H/D/V/401K
Other: Per diem 7 days/week, rotation home every 4 weeks, vehicle 
Hourly rate: $50-70/hr based on experience and OT x1.5 
Project Type: Distribution, Substation, and Transmission Lines 

Job Description:

The Construction Superintendent oversees field operations on assigned project(s), ensuring timely and profitable completion. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising specific construction tasks within an assigned area of large construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for managing subcontractors' construction-related activities to meet contractual obligations, maintain job progress, and maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project activities including earthwork, concrete flatwork, structural steel, framing, roofing, interior finishes, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and electrical systems.
  • Supervise overall construction effort, ensuring productivity, material management, and contractual performance.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Foster client and subcontractor relationships and interface with client and A/E representatives.
  • Collaborate with project management to implement procedures, standards, and project documentation.
  • Manage safety protocols, review site-specific safety documentation, and perform regular audits.
  • Authorize purchase requisitions, design changes, and manage subcontractor progress reports.
  • Complete daily field reports and document construction progress with photos.
  • Identify concerns with future work activities using subcontractor's 3-week lookahead report.
  • Develop as-built drawings, answer RFIs with assistance from Project Manager/Field Engineer.
  • Direct and verify subcontractor progress based on work hours and installed quantities.
  • Read, interpret, and understand civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Requirements:

  • Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree + 7 years of construction management or craft supervision experience on T&D projects, or
    • Associate's degree + 9 years of experience, or
    • High School Diploma/GED + 11 years of experience.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
    • Strong safety management background.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
    • Ability to meet company driving requirements.
