You’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as a leader for the BU. Bringing new ideas, challenging and driving forward the service offer. Including developing annual business unit plans.
- Accountability for service excellence and construct engine satisfaction, delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes on projects.
- Bid support. Complete in a timely manner, ensuring the appropriate sustainability message is delivered in an appropriate way to exceed the clients’ expectations but ensuring it is deliverable.
- Ensuring projects contribute to the 2030 Mace business plan KPIs and targets.
- Awareness of client and market needs to evolve and maintain necessary competencies.
- Data quality (i.e. QA the data sets) and identify insights that you can act upon. Drive improvements and better outcomes (not just reporting).
- Completing competitor analysis in the sector to continually improve.
- Innovation – measure and track, deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes.
- Ensuring all targets (legal, client and Mace) are being delivered.
- Doing the basics right – legal compliance, legislation, Mace Way, Engage.
- Regular engagement with your client and consultants (share knowledge, check in, provide informative insights, project updates and case studies).
- Developing others and delegate tasks to the wider team, ensuring efficient allocation of resource.
- Resource projects effectively with forward planning.
- Ensuring suitable time allocation is secured for each project, in line with the agreed sustainability deliverables.
- Line management responsibilities and task management for those individuals who are managed by others.

- Maintain awareness of strategic client pipelines and drivers to help ensure bidding is proactive and efficient.
- Understand client drivers and what good looks like in the sector, collaborating with other responsible business sector leads and service offer leads to bring offers to new and existing clients.
- Enhance and bring new service offers to market to stay competitive.
- Drive innovation, sharing insights and solutions from across the industry, and implement innovative solutions to pursue a better way, resulting in meaningful and measurable impacts.
- Manage quality control of relevant data sets, identifying insights and solutions that improve project performance.
Be a Collaborator\:
- Whilst the role will report into the responsible business practice group the P&L will sit with the business unit, so there will be a requirement to work collaboratively to manage the market and/or sector interfaces effectively and in the best interests of Mace.
- Work closely with your business unit SLT and other leadership forums to provide subject matter leadership and strategic planning.
- Strong leadership, integrity and motivational skills are essential, recognizing that this is an industry and discipline in which collaborative arrangements and the co-location of project teams is the preferred way of working.
- Share knowledge and insights from the sector, including project case studies and thought leadership.
- Forming and maintaining strong, senior working relationships at the highest levels in client organisations as well as across Mace, the Responsible Business practice group, and our partners, while managing the priorities of the sector and practice group.
- Industry engagement or participation. Contribute and support the wider industry regarding sustainability insights and knowledge, whether through external events, Mace communications or internal events.

- Support and develop an integrated service offer into the business unit and Mace construct.
- Lead and manage a high performing team and champion career development so the team has the opportunity to work to the best of their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
Be a Champion\:
- Strong and engaging communicator, articulate and open, and comfortable when representing the company and clients in a public forum, attending internal and external events to represent and raise the profile of Mace and the practice group.
- Champion the business unit’s contribution to the delivery of the Mace 2026 business strategy priorities and corporate targets, in particular, awareness of project carbon metrics, while driving an increase in the business unit’s carbon handprint.
- Quality control, know your projects sustainability numbers, and champion them across the team’s ad business unit.
