Job Description & Summary
The role
We are hiring for a new Senior Manager within the fast-growing Environmental Taxes team. The successful candidate will occupy an important role within the team, providing key support whilst helping to manage and develop more junior team members. The team’s work comprises both contentious and non-contentious matters. On the contentious side, the team provides end-to-end support for clients with environmental tax disputes, from early stage enquiries, to alternative dispute resolution, through to litigation before the Tax Tribunals and Courts. It would be advantageous, albeit not essential, for the candidate to be a UK qualified lawyer.
On the non-contentious side, the team’s work includes advisory, compliance and deals support matters, with a particular focus on emerging taxes and staying ahead of the market, making it an exciting and modern place to work. The team have high profile, household name clients, with the role holder expected to have client contact from Day 1. What your days will look like:
Overseeing delivery of advice on environmental taxes including Landfill Tax, Aggregates Levy, Climate Change Levy, Plastic Packaging Tax, Air Passenger Duty and CBAM.
Managing project progress, deliverables, and internal and external stakeholders.
Helping to drive business development activities including discussions with clients, giving presentations, pitches and proposals.
Coaching and developing junior team members.
Managing financial performance of projects and contributing to team growth, including overseeing fee estimates, managing budgets and ensuring timely billing.
