PRIMARY FUNCTION OVERVIEW
Facilities Specialist overall responsibility is performing duties and assisting management within the engineering operation of a manufacturing and distribution environment, or other facilities as directed by management. Individuals are expected to understand all aspects of the operation, adhere to safety standards and meet production guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary Job Responsibilities
- Lead Shift including directing technician work, planning work, coordinating work with production, approving technician time and managing technician vacation approvals.
- Be the facilities POC for the plant leadership team during shift.
- Deliver training to technicians and create training materials.
- “Safety Ambassador” for the facilities team. Ensuring maintenance activities are being conducted safely and within company’s safety policies and performs safety audits on facilities related work
- Train on the safe usage and operation of metal and wood fabrication tools
- Plans and coordinates necessary Facilities Equipment downtime repairs and makes recommendations to facilities leadership
- Lead facilities technicians in the creation, execution, and training of predictive/preventive maintenance activities as needed
- Ensure the facilities shift is completing assignments in a safe manner and have a firm understanding of safety policies and procedures affiliated with facilities related work
- Oversee contractor work to ensure safe work practices and scope of work is being adhered to
- Effectively train/mentor junior technicians on predictive/preventative maintenance of equipment and systems and delegates
- Efficiently create basic equipment daily inspection standards, repairs/replaces Facilities Equipment that fails
Secondary Job Responsibilities
- Manipulates and troubleshoots the Controls System Overview System to find and clear faults
- Navigates the Controls System to find Facilities Equipment System efficiently and find equipment data
- Conducts regulatory testing on fire pump and sprinkler visual PMs
- Systematically perform power recovery of the building
- Conducts operation, maintenance, tests, and repairs of mechanical, electrical and controls equipment, systems, and components
- Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and mechanical support
- Applies skills in restoring equipment to operational status including but not limited to Electrical distribution, Air Compressors, Chillers, Vacuum pumps, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer and HVAC
- Monitors Control System Overview to identify system problems such as jams, faults, etc.
- Assists with preventive/predictive maintenance of equipment and systems
- Responsible for maintaining safety guidelines, cleanliness and security standards
- Troubleshoots simple AC circuitry. Identifies and replaces blown fuses
- Identify and surface issues to leadership in a timely fashion
- Comply and meet standard operating procedures
- Perform other duties and special project(s), as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates Degree or higher in technical discipline – preferred
- At least four years of military or industrial experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical controls
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) as well as the ability to record and log work in a CMMS software platform
- Ability to understand, follow, and execute written and/or oral instructions
- Strong electrical knowledge. Must have the ability to troubleshoot motor control panels and related components. High and Low voltage (>480) and train as needed
- Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate appropriately within the department at a site level
- Ability to analyze, problem solve, and make decisions independently
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting immediate goals, deadlines, standards and expectations
- Proficient at conducting standard robotic drive preventive maintenance
- Proficient in safe operation of articulating aerial lifts
- Experience conducting PMs and repairs on building systems and forklifts
- Must have advanced preventive maintenance & troubleshooting skills and repair methods
- Strong mechanical knowledge. Ability to easily change parts and do minor rebuilding of components
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs based on needs of the role
- Perform repetitive movements (e.g. climbing ladders), reaching, bending, push/pull bins, repetitive wrist movement, be stationary, mobile or physically active for entirety of the shift
- Frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, testing equipment, office documents, and office objects near and far
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely while using machinery
- D Shift Schedule: 6:00pm - 6:00am (Rotational Shift)
