MAJOR DUTIES: This series covers positions managing, supervising, leading, and/or performing administrative and management work. As a Risk Analysis Officer you may: Provides Research, Technology, and Economic Security (RTES) program management, ensuring that the program accurately, efficiently, and effectively identifies, evaluates, reports on, and recommends mitigation measures for identified security risks within DOE-funded research projects. Coordinates and consults with the DOE Office of Inspector General (OIG), with other research agencies, intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), as appropriate, to identify and address potential security risks that threaten DOE's activities and to develop policy and best practices. Analyzes and evaluates all program activities, supervising, advising, and assisting with critical and complex RTES analyses and resource management issues and ensuring that management's requirements in these areas are carried out effectively and efficiently. Advises Senior Leadership on critical RTES issues impacting projects supported by the Department. Advises on methods for improving operational effectiveness regarding the Department's approach to addressing RTES risks. Supervises a team of Risk Analysts and Program Support Specialists through two subordinate supervisors and assisted by a Senior Advisor. Exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations and in advising management officials of higher rank.
