The Open Data Process Leads within our Network Intelligence and DSO Development team are key to our journey by working with our internal and external stakeholders to inform and develop our strategies, processes, policies, and principles - ensuring best practice and alignment with industry requirements.
Our Network Intelligence and DSO Development team is newly established, it brings together the planning and reporting functions of our organisation with our data capture activities and seeks to build Data Governance and Open Data capabilities within SPEN.
The postholder is responsible for monitoring and communicating the principles of Open Data and Data Best Practice, which includes the compilation of business performance in comparison to the expectations of our Open Data obligations.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring SPEN Open Data requirements are developed, established, communicated, enabled, and achieved.
- Implementing and adhering to a presumed open approach to sharing of data – and ensuring that significant volumes of external stakeholder and customer needs are met.
- Taking a leading role in the management of Open Data enquiries, including all aspects of data identification, data triage and end to end stakeholder management of both internal and external parties.
- Engaging with and adopt industry best practice such as Data Best Practice.
- Develop reporting and information on business management of Open Data, developing insight and information which can be shared with wider management team, and Senior Leadership group.
- Working with the Open Data Manager to oversee developments and delivery of datasets onto our Open Data platform, ensuring accuracy and quality of data, whilst leading and supporting relevant stakeholders through our robust data triage process and journey to publication.
- Leading a program of proactive engagement of external stakeholders to identify future data sharing opportunities.
- Overseeing the development of SPEN Open Data Portal to ensure that it is aligned with stakeholder expectations and all data published is in line with industry guidance.
- Providing support in preparing presentations and responses to requests for information from internal and external bodies as well as preparation of information for regulatory Price Control Reviews, supported as necessary by analysis and documentation.
- Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and establish sound and effective working relationships with SPEN staff and management teams in all parts of the business.
What you’ll bring
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills, communicating objectives and delivering projects with multiple milestones.
- Experienced in preparing analysis, reports, and presentations for senior management, numerically articulate with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to devise solutions to complex problems & challenges, involving consultation with others in the business, resolve differences and present a common agreed perspective.
- Ability to devise solutions to complex problems / challenges and applying innovative thinking where necessary.
