DESCRIPTION OF POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts field and office work commensuratewith the water, air, and soil sampling requirements for the mining environment. Work with Engineers, PermitCoordinators, and Scientific Specialists to conduct required water sampling and inspections as for the mine permits and regulations. Utilizes knowledge of variousengineering practices, mathematics, materials, and physical sciences to complete accuratesampling and monitoring measurements. Develops and maintains process documentation including standards, guidelines and procedures that serve to continually improve database management andeffectiveness.Identifiesany environmental concerns observedwhile in the field, alerting supervisors or managementas necessary. Other duties as assigned.Other field work toincludegrade control and topographic surveying, using Cad designs to create stakeout and layout files for GPS equipment, use of drones for aerial photogrammetry and photos/video collection.
Associates of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Computer Aided Design and Drafting. Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, Carlson, Excel and Access or similar software. Surveying or sampling background highly desirable. Familiarity with drone surveying and photogrammetry highlydesirable. Possession of a current Part 107 drone license or ability to obtain and maintaina Part 107 Drone license within 6 months of hire. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledgeand abilities.
The established grade for this position is O or P, with salary depending upon qualifications and experience.
