Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of an Environmental Health Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £29.50 - £37.65 per Hour
Responsibilities:
- To work within and nurture an integrated Public Protection ad Licensing directorate, responsible for ensuring a culturally competent, inclusive, workforce that identifies with our community and consistently models positive values and behaviours.
- To harness your environmental health knowledge to make Westminster a healthier and more equitable place to live, work and visit.
- To develop, implement and enforce environmental health policies and legislation, using specialist technical skills and knowledge to maintain and safeguard standards relating to people's health and well-being.
- To carry out routine or unannounced visits and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and taking action to improve conditions, through engagement, education and enforcement.
- To deliver a responsive, fair and informed response to complaints and concerns from our communities, resolving issues and risks highlighted to us in a timely and efficient way.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or relevant other qualifications or experience that would allow the post holder to undertake the role.
- Good interpersonal skills, an ability to build trusted relationships quickly, often in emotionally challenging situations, and the ability to respond calmly and deescalate any conflict.
- Experience of working in a relevant environmental health discipline would be desirable.
