DescriptionThe full-time starting salary is normally £40,012.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £43,491.00 per annum. This role also carries a 10% market supplement.

Our staff are integral to how we do this and to ensure we are able to deliver on our commitment, we currently have an opportunity to join the University as HR Business Partner for a fixed-term period of 12 months. As HR Business Partner you will work under the direction of a Senior HRBP to support and progress an employee relations caseload to satisfactory resolution across dedicated business areas in the organisation, partnering with and coaching line managers in HR best-practice to ensure decision-making is aligned to both the University's policy and values.
The successful candidate will be an Associate Member of the CIPD and educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience. You will be experienced in delivering a pro-active and people-focussed HR service to a diverse range of stakeholders, with particular experience in the management of employee relations casework across a broad spectrum of people issues. The post holder will need to possess an up-to-date understanding of UK employment law as it relates to the employment relationship, and demonstrate experience of successfully influencing, coaching and supporting line managers and senior leaders in handling sensitive and often difficult cases.

Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so, and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
