Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise: Functions as a technical specialist or lead, applying advanced engineering techniques with minimal supervision. Expands knowledge and skill set within the discipline and may start learning other disciplines.
Engineering Standards: Continuously learns and applies independent knowledge of departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and company policies related to assigned tasks.
Quality/Continuous Improvement: Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with Black & Veatch's quality program. Provides guidance to others on the same project and discipline, supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Engineering Production: Prepares complex engineering deliverables, performs research, and recommends equipment/material selections. Prepares engineering calculations and manages project budget, schedule, and quality. Reviews lower-level engineering work and may lead smaller production teams.
Project Coordination: Coordinates with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects to ensure alignment.
Client Focus: Assists with identifying key client interests and communicates those to the project team. Develops approaches to address client concerns. May provide support for business development or project pursuit.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Core Skills: Written communications, results-driven, priority setting, planning, delegation, directing others, conflict management, informing, listening, and team building.
Technical Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and relevant design guides and standards.
Licensure: Professional registration or licensure may be required, depending on the work performed.
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or the country where the professional is practicing.
