JOB SUMMARY: Biological Science Technician (Plants) located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, in the Invasive Plant Management Division. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately January to December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. *2025 Pay Range will be GS-4: $36,822 to $47,873 GS-5: $41,197 to $53,551 MAJOR DUTIES: Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Conduct invasive plant control projects using chemical herbicides, chainsaws, and other tools in remote natural settings. Perform labor intensive tasks while carrying up to 50 pounds, under a variety of weather conditions with frequent exposure to stinging, biting insects, arachnids and venomous snakes. Survey, map, detect and identify invasive plants from desired vegetation. Work with others on a traveling crew in an outdoor field environment.
