JOB SUMMARY:
The Sustainability Co-Op assists the Business Analytics & Industrial Engineering Department in accomplishing tasks, including: time studies, data collection, data analysis, metric development and execution, and projects pertaining to increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and reducing carbon.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute and participate in data collection studies. Perform data analysis using statistical tools and methodologies.
- Utilize industrial engineering and business analytics tools (e.g., probability and statistics, process flow analysis, queuing theory, data visualization / dashboarding, etc.) as appropriate to improve operational efficiency. Can include aiding in developing and using analytical forecasting/prediction models that yield process and labor improvement recommendations and improved property-wide operations planning. Could also include establishing key performance tracking metrics and monitoring ongoing performance.
- Aid in the development and execution of productivity and efficiency related analyses. Evaluate and improve methods and procedures for the various operational processes throughout the resort.
- Aid in the development and delivery of business cases & presentations with potential audiences including front line stakeholders, business leaders, and executive leadership.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or equivalent program.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ year educational experience in an accredited Industrial Engineering or equivalent program, prior internship and/or prior industrial engineering experience preferred.

- This internship will be fully in person, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than May 2025.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
